I’ve recently been struck by the Cardamom & Citrus combination and now I can’t get enough. It’s the perfect pairing for Winter and I absolutely love it.
I have an espresso machine we bought almost four years ago now, but feel free to make this using the coffee maker you have 🙂 I do highly recommend saving to invest in THIS MACHINE or THIS ONE, as they have completely replaced daily-weekly Starbucks/coffee shop outings and taste far superior. We get light roast beans locally, but anything LIGHT roast is what you’re looking for. Dark roast tends to lean more oily, which can ruin the burrs in an espresso machine.
I digress! Here is the recipe for my Orange (Mandarin, right now!) Cardamom Latte I have been enjoying.
Orange Cardamom Latte Recipe
Ingredients:
- Coconut Sugar or Maple Syrup
- Powdered Cardamom
- Zest of orange or mandarin
- Vanilla Bean Powder (optional)
- White Chocolate Chips (optional)
Directions:
- Grab your favorite mug
- Put 2 tsp sugar (more or less depending how sweet you like it), a pinch of vanilla bean powder, a sprinkle of cardamom (it’s strong, and better to start with a little and add later than too much), 1/4 tsp or so of orange peel zest (more or less upon your own taste), a few white chocolate chips (I get mine from Thrive or Azure)
- Brew your espresso or pour your hot coffee directly over the sweet stuff
- Whisk until blended
- Steam or froth your milk
- Pour milk into coffee
- Lightly sprinkle cardamom from above, onto our latte, and add a few sprigs of zest
- ENJOY!
