Whether you own your house, or are renting, or a t Whether you own your house, or are renting, or a temporary situation, creating a space that is truly ‘home’ doesn’t happen overnight, it’s also not simply an aesthetic.

Sure, we all find inspiration! On instagram, on Pinterest, our friends’ house… but if you really think about it, what makes YOUR home, home? Is it that your have the most perfect selection of throw pillows? Or the most trendy furniture?

Goodness, no! Thankfully HOME encompasses a much fuller picture.

It’s where your children run around the coffee table and giggle until they can’t anymore. It’s where meals are shared around the table. It’s where you build your daily rhythms, make memories, learn new skills, tell stories, and simply put…. Live your life.

It really doesn’t matter what your home looks like, if it’s instagram worthy, or has all the bells and whistles. As long as your home is filled with LOVE and JOY and PEACE — that’s what actually makes a home.

Home is where familial relationships are fostered… where we love and where we fight and where we forgive and where we live out the gospel. It’s where the brunt work for life is put in. It’s where we grow, day in and out.

Home is where our kids’ artwork is displayed on the fridge, puzzles are spread out and worked on for days, where the laundry collects and gets washed and hopefully out away. It’s where joy is brewed, and moments are stored.

Home requires no comparison, but a lot of dedication to cultivating an atmosphere that relishes in the gifts God gives us, within the walls of our house. Our people, our loves, and everything in between.

How we talk about our home, is part of what makes our home. Are we joyfully thankful, or discontent with the reality before us? Is our home a place where we steward our things, gifts, time, and responsibilities well? Are we making excuses for not doing so based out of discontentment?

Home is worth investing into; your time, your energy, your people, and your love. It’s not simply what it looks like… how does it feel? 🫶🏻
This weekend marks the official beginning of Autum This weekend marks the official beginning of Autumn... my favorite season. 🥰 I'm a November baby, and this season has always brought me so much joy. I love the transition from Summer to Fall, and find every reason to celebrate the normal mundane moments.

At the end of my pregnancy last year I set up this tablescape for a brunch I was supposed to host, but had to forego due to unending illnesses... I set it up anyways. 🙈

My family and I ate soup and sourdough alongside sniffles and snuggles and enjoyed the most of the pretty table before welcoming our new baby.

Sometimes there's so much reason to celebrate but we're too busy to put the effort forth to *actually* celebrate, because it may not seem worth the effort.
Well, I'm here to tell you, it's definitely worth it!

Celebration doesn't have to be extraordinary to be significant.
Celebrations can look like a candlelight dinner, homemade cinnamon rolls, or taking a child out for an ice cream cone, one-on-one. Or, it can be pulling out the finest china that usually collects dust, for a Sunday supper.

Big or small, choose to find the joy in the ordinary, in the seasons changing, in the life wins, and celebrate. ✨

When I finally realized gluten was a problem, I wa When I finally realized gluten was a problem, I was in the ultimate denial. Surely not… surely that’s only a trend and not an actually issue. Not for *me* anyways. Oh how wrong I was!

I didn’t understand how or why, and to be honest I’m still in the process of figuring things out. But ultimately, cutting gluten among other inflammatory foods have drastically improved many of my personal symptoms.

Although I don’t think I’m allergic, it has definitely been negatively impacting my health, so I’m prayerfully hopeful that we can help the root cause for my struggles and enjoy “normal” foods one day.

Until then, I’m done sulking and feeling sorry that my family and I are without plain ol’ organic flour, no I’m taking up the challenge of trying new things in the kitchen. Gluten free baking is definitely more complex, there are definitely more ingredients than I’m used to, and it’s definitely worth the extra effort if it means I get to enjoy baking for my family again.

Try the new things!

Hard things are not bad things.

Learning things that are currently unfamiliar is a blessing! Intimidating as it may be, even if you fail, trying is better than sitting on the sidelines and watching others, instead of joining them.

Or better yet, just do it because it’ll be good for you to grow in a weak area. Maybe you can bless someone else or your family with something new you’ve learned.

I’m trying out the gluten free recipes from @heritagehomeandhearth’s recipe book! This was her all purpose sourdough and I shaped it the way I would my normal sourdough loaves, and it seriously shocked me how well it turned out! 🍞
Homemade cashew “milk” recipe 🥛🥜 — 3 Homemade cashew “milk” recipe 🥛🥜

— 3 cups of organic raw cashews in a jar
— cover cashews with filtered water and let soak for an hour, or just overnight
— strain the soaked nuts
— 3 cups fresh filtered water into the blender with the cashews
— blend on high (I use the drink button on my vitamix) until entirely liquid
— add another 3 cups water + collagen, vanilla bean powder, and sea salt
— blend in high again until fully mixed
— pour into glass jar, and enjoy!

Cashews are soft unlike almonds so there is no pulp with the blender I have. By soaking, they’re extra soft and blend entirely. The “milk” is super creamy, but you can make it thinner by adding more water, or thicken by not adding as much. With the vitamix (mine linked on my website + more in my Amazon storefront), there is no grit or grainy texture. However, if you do try it and you do have some graininess with a different blender, please let me know!

This comes out to about $5-$6 a jar (1/2 gal), and no fillers and questionable oils. I store it in the fridge and it never lasts long enough to go bad. 😅

I use it in protein smoothies, lattes, and anything else.

My family still drinks normal raw milk, so I’m the only one drinking it, but I like it a lot and gives me zero negative symptoms which is all I can ask for in this season 🥲 #thisis30

This Autumnal scene just needed it’s own moment This Autumnal scene just needed it’s own moment to shine on my feed 🕯️🍁✨

Warm Citrus Spice + Crisp Smoky Woods paired with the new afternoon glow, just makes my heart skip a beat this time of year.

I’m pulling out my slow cooker weekly as the temps lower, and I am finally back to baking (gluten free) sourdough.

The season is officially changing and I am thrilled about it. 🍂

This collection is a mix of our own stash we’ve been slowly collecting over the years, and ones we frequently borrow from the library. Most are specifically Autumnal, however, a few simply feel *cozy* so we enjoy them most when the seasons change.

The second to last one is a PRECIOUS book filled with delightful hand painted illustrations with different recipes and ideas to do with your family for the season.
