Happy September! 🍂 Making my bed feel like a lu

These are so simple to make, but a really precious

I have had little ones at my feet the entire time

✏️ Homeschool Year 2024-24 Curriculum Plans 📚

This year we have:

Form 1A Upper/3rd Grade
Form 1B Lower/2nd Grade
Preschooler (just turned 4)
Toddler (2 in December)

We’re following @the.cmec’s main subject choices, with some additions, and some swaps! 📒

Bible: We are following @wearebsf this year for the first time, so that will be our primary Bible lesson and study. Additionally, we’re going through the @lithoskids Pilgrim’s Progress. 🕊️

History: The CMEC — we’re still in our American History cycle, and loving it! 🇺🇸

Literature: The CMEC — lots of poetry, novels, and new-to-us fairy tales! 📖

Math: #beautyandtruthmath 🧮 but we will adjust if needed here! This has been a tricky subject for us, so completely open to pivoting if necessary.

Geography, Natural History, Common Subjects: the CMEC! 🎶 🌎 🐞

Language Arts: Explode the Code for phonics, lots of reading, and lots of audiobooks! 📕

Handwriting: @simplycharlottemason Copybook Readers, @handwritingwithouttears, and good old fashioned copy work (scripture, poems, favorite lines from books we read, etc). 🖊️

We do lots of narration, which is the assimilation of information. They tell back what they hear after I’ve read a chapter (sometimes less), or illustrate and write in their notebooks. We do this for most subjects, sometimes they simply narrate orally, others primarily draw and other times I’ll dictate their narration while they tell me back what they remember. Their notebooks end up being such precious keepsakes of all they learn in that year. 📝
